A little bit about me:

Career Reflections: Talk about your career journey at Gannett

I’ve always had a passion for creativity and hands-on problem solving, which naturally led me to media. From filming with my friends to studying Marketing and Broadcast Journalism. My journey at Gannett began as an Assistant Video Editor, then I moved into roles as a Social Video Producer and progressed in Video Production over the years and now serve as a Visual and Technical Operations Manager. Each step has built on my strengths and deepened my understanding of both storytelling and technology.

What advice would you give to your younger self—or someone just joining Gannett or the workforce?

I’d tell my younger self—or anyone just starting out—to take on internships and focus on building real connections. The experience you gain and the relationships you form can open doors and shape your career in ways you might not expect.

Collaboration & Belonging: How do your personal passions help you connect with others on the team?

My passion for family and friends helps me connect with my team on a human level—we all ultimately seek purpose, connection, and well-being. That perspective reminds me that empathy and clear communication are key to working well together.

In the Balance: How do you approach work-life management?

Balance isn’t just a value, it’s how I lead and collaborate. Whether I’m captaining my soccer team or working on a video project with friends, I’ve learned that strong leadership blends clarity, creativity, and coordination.

That’s why hybrid work matters. It gives me the structure to focus and the flexibility to show up fully—for my team and my family. I once led a high-priority project when my child had a school event I didn’t want to miss. I blocked time to be there, picked work back up later, and my team fully supported it. That kind of trust goes a long way—and helps me thrive in both parts of my life.

Beyond the Desk: How do you recharge outside of work?

I recharge in a variety of ways, mostly by spending quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy staying active, whether it’s playing in a soccer league with my wife, bike riding, camping, and traveling. We love being outdoors, but I also appreciate the quieter times or moments, like relaxing at home and watching a movie with the family.

What makes you proud to work at Gannett?

I’m proud to work at Gannett because we play a vital role in informing and empowering communities. Being part of the engine that delivers trusted, unbiased journalism and sheds light on important issues is both meaningful and fulfilling.
