USA TODAY Movie Meter Program Opens for Rating
Annual program allowing movie enthusiasts to choose their “Film of the Year”
USA TODAY, part of USA TODAY Co., Inc. (NYSE: TDAY), launched its annual USA TODAY Movie Meter program, a platform that allows movie lovers to rate films and decide which one deserves the distinguished title of “Film of the Year.” USA TODAY Movie Meter gives enthusiasts a voice, reflecting audience attitudes towards the celebrated films nominated in the Best Picture category by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the Academy Awards.
Today through March 15 at 12 midnight EST, registered USA TODAY Movie Meter panelists can watch the 10 Oscar–nominated films’ trailers and rate all eligible movies on a scale from 1-5. The USA TODAY Movie Meter winner will be announced on moviemeter.usatoday.com the morning of March 16 after the Oscars.
“We are thrilled to bring back USA TODAY Movie Meter for its second year, following the successful launch of the program,” said USA TODAY Movie Meter Editor, Rick Suter. “As we continue to expand our platform for rankings, we are focused on the perspectives of our audiences across the USA TODAY Network as we capture the public’s sentiment surrounding the biggest moments in sports, entertainment and pop culture.”
